Disneyland Podcast, Want to Be In it?

Official Dineyland Resort PodcastPeople always ask, so here you go. We will be on location recording an upcoming Official Disneyland Resort Podcast this Friday, June 29th. You can find us at 6:30PM in front of the entrance to the Pirates of The Caribbean attraction. Just look for me, the guy with the microphone. No guarantees, but this is a great chance if you are interested. This is a last minute idea, and I have no idea how much reach my personal site has for Disneyland fans, but hopefully the folks from Laughing Place, Mouse Planet etc. will spread the word.
I look forward to seeing you if you’d like to be on the podcast. Regardless, we are covering some great stuff this month!

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Opening

Nemo

I covered the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage press events over the last few days for the Official Disneyland Resort Podcast. Once again, my friend and amazing photographer Jason Niedle came along. Here are some pictures of various events including the celebrity “Blue Carpet” preview. Enjoy.

Pirates 3 Red Carpet Photos

Pirates Red Carpet

I put up a photo set from the red carpet for the Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End world premier. My friend Jason Niedle who was helping with the audio recording also happens to be a great photographer. Photos.

Pirates of The Caribbean #3 Red Carpet Video

Here is a quick video from last night’s Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End world premier. We were covering the event for the upcoming Disneyland Podcast. If you look closely you’ll spot Lee Arenberg (Pintel) and Leeza Gibbons. A lot of fun last night, we grabbed this quick video during a break in celebrity interviews.

Busy Podcasting Week

It has been a busy week for me speaking about what we are working on at GigaVox and podcasting in general. First I had the opportunity to go to the Chicago area Tuesday and Wednesday for a visit with Marantz Professional and to speak at an event at Northwestern University. After that it was back to Los Angeles for Thursday and Friday and a presentation at PR Online Convergence 07. At Friday’s lunch, Jason Calacanis gave the keynote. I always enjoy hearing Jason speak. Count me among the fans of his blunt approach; it has always resonated with me. Lots of good stuff plus a little hint about what he may be up to with Project X.

Tomorrow it off to Disneyland to provide podcast coverage for the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. Always fun to do red carpet coverage at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Disneyland Podcast #23

Disneyland Podcast #23
It has been a while since I mentioned the release of a Disneyland Resort Podcast. They just posted the most recent episode I produced. We cover the Food and Wine Weekends, where I interview Michael Jordan the manager and lead sommelier of the Napa Rose restaurant pictured above and an interview with Imagineer Tony Baxter about the return of the Subs. You can check it out here.

Genesis of the Disneyland Podcast

I am often asked to recount the story behind the original 50th Anniversary Disneyland Podcast. Those who have heard the story know it sounds like a game of telephone. “A guy (Mike Spataro) called a guy ( Greg Cangialosi) who called a guy (K. Todd Storch) who called a guy (Me).” Here is an interview that my friend Greg Cangialosi (guy #2) conducted with Mike Spataro (guy #1) for his new podcast, ROI Radio. For the record, Mike is the unsung hero of the Disneyland Podcast, he brought the opportunity to us.

BTW, Greg did a great presentation at our most recent Podcast Academy. His presentation, which he mentions in the interview, will be available for free on the Podcast Academy channel in the near future. [Link]

If you are a Disney fan, here are the photos from the May kick off event and the July 50th Anniversary.

Fun With Video

I decided to experiment with some video. If it works, the post should display a movie poster you can click to play as well as a download option for an iPod version of the video. The movie segment above was created by Noah Bonnett from 88SLIDE for a series of episodes he produced at Disneyland. (BTW Noah is an Instructor at the upcoming Podcast Academy.)
