[...] Michael Geoghegan spoke at last year’s Podcasting and New Media Expo and dropped a bomb that got reactions from people all throughout the podcasting community. I’ve been waiting for this presentation to hit the web and now it has finally been published. Michael stated in his blog that he hopes this will clear up any noise that’s been generated by people who actually didn’t hear the presentation: While many podcasting “thought leaders” refer to it, given their comments, any fair listen will reveal they have never actually heard it, they have only “heard of it”. (In fact, one podcasting big wig had to retract his statement about it.) I challenge any of the podcasting glitterati to disagree with its basic premise. In truth, it is a surprisingly optimistic and practical presentation for new media producers. [...]

Michael Geoghegan (Podcasting’s Jimmy Stewart) called our industry to task in the first round of presentations in the first morning and although he ruffled some feathers (how could he not?), it looks like the parties involved have all made up.
Indeed, miscommunications do happen and that's what happened here. I had received some incorrect information and was not aware of the big picture, which was more nuanced.

I'm glad that Michael promptly called it to my attention and that we were able to work things out amicably. I apologize for any confusion that might have led to any doubt whatsoever on Michael's integrity, which in my experience is top-notch.
