[...] I made a call for people to read my manuscript and provide feedback in exchange for free publicity. One of the people whom I interviewed for the book, Michael Geoghegan thought that my “shopping for endorsements” was in poor taste. After reading his post, I agreed and went on to change my post eight hours after publishing it, but not before Michael captured a screenshot of the original post. [...]

Thanks for the tip Michael. I didn't realize that putting my call for endorsements so publicly on my blog would give a negative perception. It would've been nice if you just sent me a quick email about this. I really respect your advice and I would've appreciated a more private resolution, especially for a first time author who is bridled with excitement.

In any case, my intent was to give those who I didn't approach a chance to be a part of this project. Writing a book, especially this book, has been an eye opener for me in many ways. I guess my enthusiasm got the better of me.

Thanks again for the heads up. I've changed my blog post. I'm not clear what to do at this point as the deadline has passed and I doubt people can get through 200-pages before July 13th. Any suggestions?

[...] My friend, Micheal Geoghagen, a leader in the podcasting field, said that my call for endorsements could leave a negative perception about my book. Although it would’ve been nice to get an email from my colleague about this, I do appreciate Michael taking the time to give me another perspective. So, I’ve changed this post and will continue emailing people privately for endorsements, as I have been doing. [...]
