Tricks of the Podcasting Masters

Rob Walch, who is also attending the Corporate Podcast Summit, was kind enough to give me a signed copy of his new book, Tricks of the Podcasting Masters. It looks like a good read.
Rob told me that the book is written for the exisiting podcaster who wants to learn how to improve, promote and grow their podcast. I’d also point out that long time podcaster Craig Patchett acted as the technical editor. Congratulations to both Rob and Mur Lafferty on the release of their book.

It Is Always In The Hallway

I’ve been having a great time at the Corporate Podcasting Summit. There are lots of interesting people here and as usual, though the presentations have been terrific, it is the discussions taking place in the hallways that are the most interesting. It has also proven to be a good opportunity to put some faces to voices and names I have long been familiar with.

Next Up – Corporate Podcasting Summit

Corporate POdcasting Summit

Well, I have been back and forth to the Bay Area every week in June. Last week we had a great time at Podcast Academy #3 held at Yahoo. It was also announced that Podcast Academy #4 will take place the day before the Portable Media Expo (Sept. 28th). The sign up page should go up soon. Biggest news w/PA4 is a heavy emphasis on professional production and video with some heavy hitters in the video field. Stay tuned. Meanwhile I am back in the Bay Area to participate in the inaugural Corporate Podcast Summit. I’m looking forward to it. The best news: If you can’t attend, don’t despair, IT Conversations has an exclusive on the conference audio. They will be releasing it in short order. That said, as usual, I am looking forward to the conversations in the hallways.

Podcasting Term

Wikipedia – Are You Important Enough?

I am not sure why this sentence has stuck in my head all morning, but it has.

Please decide whether this indivdual is sufficiently important to warrant an article.

This is from a discussion taking place on Wikipedia about the entry for Fred Wilson; it is being considered for deletion. I know that Wikipedia does not want to become a repository of about pages for every Tom, Dick and Harry in existence and they need to enforce some standards. But that phrase: “sufficiently important,” it still gets me. It has to be odd to watch a public discussion regarding whether or not you are “important” enough.

TWIT

It has been an exciting week. Today, I went to Leo Laporte’s studio with Doug Kaye and recorded an episode of TWIT. We had a great time. Thanks Leo and the TWITs! [Link]
