Chris,

The short answer is yes. There are a number of features that the Marantz recorder has that I like, particularly for situations where you get one shot, either you get it right or you don't get it at all. So for celebrity events and podcasts that I am being paid to produce, I feel more comfortable using pro-level gear like this. That said, it is expensive and I don't know that the hobbyist podcaster would necessarily find the same value in it that I do. As an example, I often have an audio assistant with me monitoring the audio and the levels. This set up works well for that. I did a presentation on the different Marantz recorders and the gear I use for the Orange County Podcaster group. They recordered it and I'll like to it when it is posted.

That looks very bulky compared to something small and digital like an iRiver. Is the sound quality that much better?

Michael, I know how annoying the chords out of the side of a PMD 670 can be so an interesting post on the wireless solution.

Just wondering where on the net you can get mic flags from (like the disney one you have)? Can't find them anywhere. Is it a home made frame with your own prints or a pro job?

Any help would be great.
