CNBC – The Closing Bell

CNBC ran some coverage today that included some shots of the Reel Reviews site as well as running some of my audio from the Halloween Reel Review. Other podcasters featured were Dave Slusher, Tim Bourquin and Robbie Trencheny.
Portable Media Expo

Doug Kaye, myself and Dan Klass signing Podcast Solutions.
As you have read everywhere on the net, the Portable Media Expo was a home-run success! Congratulations and thanks to Tim Bourquin for such a great event. Over the last year, I’ve been fortunate to forge friendships with and meet many of the original podcasters, but this event was like the Woodstock of podcasting, bringing old friends and new faces together. I’d go down the list of great people I met but it would run for pages!
Highlights for me was the opportunity to address the Podcast Academy on how to make money beyond podcasting. Essentially a talk, as my friend John Furrier puts it,” figuring out where the puck is and playing to that position”. Basically I addressed how to best take advantage of the present state of podcasting. Doug Kaye says the audio should be posted shortly – look for it.
I was also blown away by the fact that at our book signing for Podcast Solutions we completely sold out! I have to admit, the idea of autographing anything is rather new to me, but it is extremely gratifying to know people have enjoyed our work enough to want an autograph.
I was also honored to see that Podcasting News said my presentation at the expo Saturday, The Realities of Monetization and Corporate Use of Podcasting, was one of the highlights of the show. That is rather heady stuff and I greatly appreciate the compliment. You can find their piece here.
Finally, when we were signing books, our friend Evo Terra graciously purchased a copy of Podcast Solutions and asked that we sign it for him. Many of you know that Evo is the co-author of the new book, “Podcasting For Dummies”. Well, I autographed his book with the phrase, “To my favorite podcasting dummy!”, Dan signed it to “Evil”, anyway long story short, there was a mix up and when Evo got “his” book it wasn’t signed. That means there is a fan out there somewhere with a book signed to a “podcasting dummy” and “evil” . If that is you, we are sorry.
Last thing, if anyone has pictures of me when I did a segment on Leo Laporte’s KFI Radio show can you please email them to me, I would appreciate it. Make sure if you missed it, that you are at next year’s Expo!
Disneyland Resort Podcast
As many of you know, my production company, Willnick Productions Inc., has produced podcasts for the Disneyland Resort. We had a great time doing the first two series back in May and July of this year covering the 50th anniversary celebration at Disneyland. I am happy to report that those podcasts were so well received that Disneyland has asked us to produce them on a monthly basis. If you are interested, here is the link for the first monthly edition of the Official Disneyland Resort Podcast.
